Karel Vacek, PhD, is the co-founder and CEO of Fund Genesis, putting into practice his 26 years of senior finance experience in Asia. In his prior role, Karel was the CEO and Board Member of Leonteq Securities (Singapore) in 2013-2014. Karel concurrently served as the Head of Investments of EFG Asset Management (Hong Kong) in 2011-2012 and as the COO of Asia and Board Member of Leonteq Securities (Hong Kong) in 2010-2014. Prior to EFG and Leonteq, Karel was Director of Corporate Strategy in Mizuho Securities (Asia) Hong Kong in 2005-2010, where he expanded the securities company beyond Japanese equity brokerage into alternative asset management. Before Mizuho, Karel was the Head of Market Risk Asia in ING Barings in 1998-2005. Karel holds PhD from Osaka University, speaks Japanese and conversational German and Russian. Karel loves skiing, sailing, soccer and traveling.
Tomas is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Fund Genesis, focusing on cross-border transactions in capital raising, acquisitions and private placements. Until 2015, Tomas was on the investment team at Silver Lake Partners, a $43 billion private equity fund specialized in technology investments. Prior to Silver Lake, Tomas worked at Goldman Sachs in Healthcare Investment Banking and as Equity Derivatives Trader on the Single Stock Volatility desk. Tomas earned his BA in Economics from Stanford University in 2010, where he was awarded Phi Beta Kappa and wrote his Honors Thesis under the direction of Prof. John Taylor discovering proof of LIBOR inaccuracy and deviations during the 2008 financial crisis. Tomas actively supports the community through leadership positions including the Outreach Committee at HKSI, ASSU Student Senator and Freshman Class President at Stanford University. In his free time, Tomas enjoys flying planes as a licensed FAA pilot, sailing boats, skiing and traveling.
Beryl has 8 years of experience in Hong Kong and Japan. She was previously the Regional Account Manager for Japan at MergerMarket (Acuris). Prior to MergerMarket, she was Relationship Manager at Dukascopy Bank SA, Account Manager at Wind Information and Head of Corporate Access at Okasan International Asia. Beryl studied at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Kyorin University. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese.

Nandi has over 20 years corporate development, strategic and operational experience in technology. He has founded, grown and exited his own and other tech start-ups and advised both corporate and PE groups on strategic acquisitions. He recently left Amobee (acquired by Singtel) where he was VP/GM of Publisher Solutions. He was involved on their successful exit to Singtel and 4 acquisitions ($400mil+) Amobee-Singtel subsequently made. Prior to Amobee, he was Vice President driving the international growth at Bango (LSE-BGO) following their IPO. Before Bango he was EIR at a NY Secondary fund and headed EMEA sales for a Silicon Valley start-up. In 1999, he founded Surfkitchen (acquired by Teleca) which was backed by Accel and other leading VCs. Nandi has an undergrad in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Computer Graphics, in his spare time he is an active golfer and cyclist, dad and advisor to digital start-ups.
Yiting Pan is Founder and Managing Partner of Cold Creek Consulting (CCC) since April 2020. CCC is dedicated to investment diligence, capital markets and credit portfolio management advisory for institutional investors and asset originators. Prior to CCC, Ms. Pan served as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the large FinTech firm Yiren Digital (NYSE:YRD) for three years and helped the company list on NYSE in 2015. Ms. Pan also spent five years as Managing Partner heading the CreditEase Offshore Private Credit Fund (OPCF). Under her management, OPCF fund originated private credit facilities across variety of assets, generated satisfactory fund returns and was well liked by investors. While managing the OPCF fund, Ms. Pan reviewed hundreds of FinTech companies and conducted deep due diligence on several dozen. Through the hands-on experience managing a FinTech business herself and the broad exposures working with a few hundred of FinTech firms, Ms. Pan gained profound business insights into the FinTech industry – she knows what business models work, she understands their underlying risk factors and she also knows where to look for innovation and potential business growth. Before she entered the FinTech space, Ms. Pan worked in several large banks, such as Capital One, MUFG, ABN AMRO and Goldman Sachs. Ms. Pan received a Master’s degree in mathematics and computer science from University of Illinois at Chicago, and an M.B.A. degree from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
